Vietnam is a stunning temperate and tropical destination, going through annual monsoons.
However, the sun paves the way for countless stunning beaches and exciting activities outside the rainy seasons of May-October (north and south regions) or September-January (central regions).
Ha Long Bay
CONTENTS
If you stay in Hanoi, you’ll be close to Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The most prominent feature of Ha Long Bay is the limestone outcroppings, but there’s plenty more to this destination, including Bai Chay, an artificial attraction that brings in countless tourists.
Before visiting Ha Long Bay or any other destination in Vietnam, you’ll need to double-check if you need to apply for an evisa Vietnam.
The last thing you want is to have your experience ruined before entering the country.
Da Nang
Da Nang is the 3rd largest city in Vietnam, and it’s home to countless attractive beaches just a short drive away.
My Khe Beach isn’t far from the city, and it’s world-renowned for its water sports offering, including jet-skiing, snorkelling, and surfing.
Alternatively, there’s Tien Sa Beach, which is largely untouched and perfect for those looking for a spot of privacy.
Con Dao
Con Dao is often mistaken as one island, but it’s a collection of 16 islands in southwestern Vietnam.
In the 1800s, Con Dao was home to horrific French prisons, but all of that has changed now.
Instead, you’ll find beautiful sandy beaches, coral reefs, and expansive marine sea life.
If you stay on the main island, you’ll find many high-end resorts and budget options.
One of the most notable resorts on the island is Six Senses, which facilitates access to the jaw-dropping Dat Doc Beach.
Doc Let
Located just an hour from Nha Trang, Doc Let has roughly 11 miles of shorelines.
In the northern section, plenty of bays are popular with tourists and hotels.
Whereas, in the central areas, there are stunning stretches of beach, you’ll have to be mindful of the busy ports, including the Hyundai shipyard.
Finally, the southern section is a go-to for any backpacker because of its famous fishing villages.
Mui Ne
Just a stone’s throw from Saigon is Mui Ne, home to many wonders and picturesque beaches.
What makes Mui Ne stand out from other beaches on this list is the desert-like dunes referred to as the Red Sand Dunes and White Sand Dunes, which are common destinations for extreme sports enthusiasts.
Regarding the actual beach part of Mui Ne, you’ll have to travel 15 minutes from the dunes to Ham Tien, where the Fairy Stream (Suoi Tien) is located.
Vietnam has countless incredible beaches that should be on every traveller’s list.
Use this list as a starting point for your Vietnamese experience and then explore from there.
